DET cable ties, detected by a metal detector, are intended for use wherever the risk of contamination during the manufacturing process needs to be eliminated, e.g., with food or pharmaceutical products, production line components, etc. Detectable cable ties are made of polyamide with an admixture of metal filings (metal oxides), which gives them a pale blue color. In the food and pharmaceutical industries, they are also used to seal bags and containers, but only where there is no direct contact with the package contents. These ties are not intended for direct contact with food or pharmaceuticals.
